President’s Message

Welcome to the Palo Alto Lawn Bowls Club

Lawn Bowling is a gentle sport for all ages. The Palo Alto LBC has been in existence since the 1930s. Regular, student (18+), and dual members may bowl and enjoy all the rights and privileges of the club. Associate members do not bowl but are entitled to attend social events and visit the clubhouse. Members are welcome to play in and attend a series of tournaments and social events hosted by the club throughout the year. Most events are scheduled in advance so you have ample time to sign up and prepare yourself. As a member, you are eligible to participate in our Pacific Intermountain Division (PIMD) and Bowls USA (BUSA) tournaments. You are now considered part of the lawn bowling family and will find you are welcome at other lawn bowling clubs around the world .
The PALBC membership helps run the club. Please read all the materials in your membership packet. You will also receive a gate key and information about coming in anytime to practice bowling. Keep an eye out for signs posted at the gate entrances on the availability of the green for bowling. Announcements are usually made prior to any closing of the green for maintenance.
As a club member, we hope you will also help out with volunteer activities from time to time so we can preserve the tradition of lawn bowling in Palo Alto with future generations of lawn bowlers.
Thank you and welcome!
Nadine O’Leary, President
